Seattle 2

No visit to Seattle is complete without seeing the Pike Place Markets. Paul had told Peter about the Russian piroshky and he was keen to try one. After breakfast we hopped on a bus to downtown Seattle. The markets are famous for the fish mongers who all of a sudden start throwing large fish around after a sale.

The photo below shows the piroshky eater hard at work. While no match for Peter’s mums they were definitely the best he’d tasted anywhere else.

Claire was pleased that we all enjoyed the Chihuly Garden & Glass exhibition. There were many fantastic photos with the following few being some of the best.

The following shot took a number of attempts to get right as we were holding the camera at waist level.

After the glass exhibition we again ventured into the folk festival where we met up with this character who was covered with mirrors. His face was the most impressive part of the costume.

One of the acts we watched was this guy with a glass ball. He made it look like it was floating, while all the time he had his fingertips on it.

Paul and Zoe had told us about a Japanese drumming group that they had watched last year and we were very happy to find that they were performing again this year. They were certainly worth watching as they were quite spectacular.

We continue to have trouble finding the spare time to write our posts. At present we are at least a week behind.

It was great spending time with Paul and Zoe and the folk festival weekend was the perfect time to do so.

  1. Mmmmm... Piroshky. I think Dad should use his retirement to learn how to cook piroshky. Love the photos of the glass exhibition, especially the one with the needle in the reflection.

    1. Did you notice us in the reflection too? It took several attempts.
